Adopted State Board for Educator Certification Rules - Subject to SBOE Review

The State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) has adopted the following rule actions subject to the State Board of Education (SBOE) review required by the Texas Education Code, §21.042. If the SBOE reviews and takes no action on a rule, the agency will file it with the Texas Register and determine a future effective date. Proposed Amendments to 19 TAC Chapter 227, Provisions for Educator Preparation Candidates
Summary: The proposed amendments would make conforming changes to the Chapter 227 rules given proposed updates to Chapter 228, Requirements for Educator Preparation Programs, and Chapter 230, Professional Educator Preparation and Certification. The proposed changes would also update the Pre-Admission Content Test (PACT) figure to include the proposed new certificates and aligned PACT exams as well as proposed cut scores. The amendments were adopted, subject to State Board of Education review, with no changes since published as proposed.
